A City like no other, built around the Amstel river, started as a fishing village and owes the 3 crosses of it’s flag to San Andres, a fisherman martyred with an x-shaped cross in the first century AD. All ships waved this flag on 1505 as a distinctive of their origins.
Another interesting fact about Amsterdam is it’s use of Bikes: there are at least 900k bikes in the city and only 882k population, I was astonished with the amount of people I saw riding bikes around the city, really wished very other city could do the same, but the reason this is possible rest on the own city and the way it’s built.
I was amazed by the amount of details, the history and the way this city made me feel wellcome, here’s some pictures I collected allong my visit.
